Spanish actress Penelope Cruz has worn Victorian-style diamond jewelry from Amrapali to press conferences and on The Tonight Show and has also been spotted in California jewelry designer Becky Kelso's handmade creations, but the go-to jeweler for the Academy Award winner seems to be Chopard.
Cruz wore Chopard on a number of occasions while promoting the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, in which she starred with Johnny Depp. At the film's premiere, she selected the 10-carat platinum and diamond drop earrings; a 57- carat platinum and diamond bracelet, and a three-carat diamond ring.
In April 2011, the actress earned her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and again opted for Chopard, this time wearing diamond pave drop earrings set in platinum and a nine-carat heart-shaped diamond ring.
Cruz really went to town for the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala dedicated to the late designer Alexander McQueen – which she attended dressed in a black Oscar de la Renta dress and a Chopard diamond necklace, bracelet, ring, and earrings.
Penelope might go for flash on the red carpet, but well before Prince William presented Kate Middleton with Princess Diana's ring, sparking a global craze for sapphire jewels, she was sporting a relatively modest vintage three-carat oval-cut sapphire engagement ring from boyfriend Javier Bardem.
