Presentation by Shmuel Schnitzer - Baselworld 2006

For the 14th consecutive year The Israel Diamond Industry held its annual press conference breakfast at BaselWorld.

Mr. Shmuel Schnitzer, chairman of the IDI PR & Marketing Committee & President of the WFDB was the first keynote speaker. "The challenges facing the industry are numerous: from synthetic diamonds, HPHT treatments, conflict diamonds and prevention of money laundering - to terrorism and more. Specifically, the Israel diamond industry - a longstanding, highly respected manufacturing and trade center - must compete daily in a difficult contest with the other diamond centers of the world. In such an environment, it is essential that we highlight our advantages and strengths, and let our clients know about them."
