WFDB President Avi Paz: Establish a Joint International Steering Committee for Diamond Marketing

In the course of the AWDC Diamond Symposium held yesterday in Belgium, WFDB President Avi Paz called for the establishment of a joint international steering committee for diamond marketing. Paz stated: “During these turbulent times, great importance must be attributed to unity among the mining companies, diamond traders, producers and jewelry companies. We must act as a single entity to market the advantages of the diamond as a financial investment.”
Paz also called on the diamantaires and mining companies to act responsibly and ensure that the market is not flooded with rough diamonds: “Responsibility for this aspect lies in the hands of the mining companies, but no less so in the hands of each and every diamantaire to refrain from acquiring rough diamonds unnecessarily.”
