Nairobi authorities have arrested the alleged mastermind behind the murder of gem expert Campbell Bridges and the attack on his son, Bruce and four colleagues.
Bridges was brutally beaten and stabbed to death in Kenya on August 11, 2009.
According to various media reports, the suspect is Daniel M. Mnene, commonly known as Suleiman. Mnene is believed to be behind the illegal mining and attempted takeover of the Bridges' mining concessions.
Mnene was reportedly apprehended by the Bridges' family private security detail, who turned him over to police custody. The security officer who notified police was a witness to the murder. He reportedly accompanied police to the station to document the arrest of the alleged suspect.
